I've been out of college and working since 1985, so I've been at a number of different companies over the years. The longest I worked at a single company was about 18 years, and the place really left a mark on me. It was full of smart people and we were building new things, winning clients and learning a lot along the way.
A couple of my closest longtime friends are from my time at that company, but mostly it's a place I used to work, with people I used to know and occasionally read about online.
Then I got an email from two former colleagues -- they were planning a company reunion and invited me to attend. What a great day it turned out to be! There was a lot of catching up on things, but even more fun was the time we spent remembering all the crazy stuff we did together as we helped build and grow the company.
Being at the reunion reminded me of all the fun we had together (and the hard work we did). I'm sure it was a lot of work to plan and host the party, and I am so glad these two men took the lead and made it happen (just like they did with many work situations "back in the day").
Thanks to the reuniters! I hope they do it again next year.
