Week 46: The Friend In Deed

This week's thank you goes to a truly special woman. She is a friend like no other...a true hands-on supporter and helper. Many friends help out in an emergency. Others make suggestions when you need help. This woman helps out all the time. And, she doesn't just make suggestions, she takes action.

"You're moving across the country to my city -- let me drive you and your husband around and show you all the neighborhoods."

"You're having a baby and there's no family around -- I'll host a baby shower for you and another friend in a similar situation."

"You want to know about schools -- I'll give you the scoop on each one."

The list goes on, and so does the list of people who have benefitted from the friendship of this great, strong, kind, funny, inspirational woman. Who by the way is totally down to earth, has a long marriage, raised three great kids and is phenomenally smart and informed about the world. And she throws great parties.

Everyone lucky enough to know this woman expresses the same things: gratitude and awe. She is a friend indeed, and she shows it in her deeds.
