My last post was about Coaches Corner and the person who helped build the program. This post is about the designer who transformed our thinking into images and materials that people will notice, understand and respond to.
Coaches Corner enables any employee in the company to connect with an experienced colleague who is willing to offer help in a specific area such as career development, difficult conversations, team building, etc. With thousands of employees across multiple offices, getting the word out isn't easy.
Enter a designer who knows how to communicate with impact. To start her work on Coaches Corner, she first learned about the program and all the details behind it. She prepared various options and we discussed what worked and why. We collaborated on the final materials, all of which have a common layout and consistent themes to be used in posters, online announcements and company social media pages.
The triangle design conveys "corner". Each image is tied to a specific coaching topic, with hands as a common element, evoking a sense of helping hands or a pat on the back. I'm pretty good with PowerPoint and using graphics, but I am not a professional designer, and there is no way I would have come up with this approach. She did A+ work on this and feedback has been great.
Basically, she took our vision and turned it into something beautiful, powerful and -- most importantly -- one that will spark people to contact a coach, which is the whole point of the program!
