Week 25: IT Support

I'm a bit of a clumsy person, and I recently spilled water on my laptop at work. Apparently, water is just as bad for a laptop as a double espresso or a frothy chai, so there's little consolation that I had my water bottle there to stay hydrated with something that's good for me.
We aired it out for days, but no luck. The laptop was destroyed.
Thankfully, an IT Support person helped me arrange for a new laptop fairly quickly. He got it set up with all the tools and applications I need to do my job, and he had it shipped directly to my house.
He also answered questions via instant message and email, so we didn't have to use the company's online help desk system for every little thing. This made the entire process fast and smooth.
Sometimes people bash their company's help desk as being unhelpful or worse. But my experience has been really good, and I am very grateful to have a new, working -- and dry -- laptop!
