Week 20: The Relo King

My company just moved offices. For anyone who has been through this, you know it's a massive undertaking, especially when it involves over 100 people.
Someone has to plan and deal with all the logistics -- from big things such as moving equipment and servers down to minute details like making sure each person has a recycling bin. And of course the biggest decision of all: who sits where.
The person who made all this happen for our company did a fantastic job. He was back and forth from the old to the new location repeatedly, to make sure that everything was under control and would run smoothly. When I showed up at the new location, all I had to do was pick up my new badge and head to my desk.
The internet and printers worked right away, and -- just as importantly -- so did the coffee machine! The new space is very nice. It's light and bright and open.
I'm sure there were challenges behind the scenes, but thanks to our "relo king" those things were invisible to most of us. He deserves major thanks -- and some time off too!
