Week 10: The Retiring Coworker

One of my favorite people just announced her retirement. We have been working together for five years, in contact every week (and sometimes every day). We work in different offices, but we are very connected and occasionally are together in person.

My colleague is very knowledgeable in her field. She's also the perfect balance of professional and fun. She works hard, yet she makes time to talk about family and other non-work stuff.

Side by side through numerous challenges, we've solved problems, implemented changes and laughed along the way. She's made my job more fulfilling and helped me to be more effective.

To me she is more than a colleague, more than a partner...she is a true friend. I will miss her dearly and can't thank her enough. She deserves a toast, and more!
