2022 Note 5: The Diversity Champion

I met a really impressive, kind, professional and caring colleague. She is smart, full of positive, infectious energy, and does a lot of things to support others. One area where she has a lot of passion is diversity and inclusion.

Earlier this year, we collaborated on a presentation to our entire department on how we can be more inclusive and how we can embed inclusive leadership into our work. Putting together the presentation was a true partnership. We talked openly about what we wanted to achieve and how best to convey the messages in a helpful and engaging way.

Our presentation was well received and we both felt good about how we handled what can be somewhat sensitive subject matter. It's great to know there are people like my colleague, who genuinely care and show it through their daily work and life. I am fortunate to know her and I hope we collaborate again in the future.
