2020: Note 36 - A Global Ally

One of the things we've started at our company to foster a more inclusive atmosphere is to set up groups of Inclusion and Diversity (I&D) Ambassadors or Allies. These are people who are interested in learning more about inclusion and helping their colleague learn as well.

We have these programs in place in a handful of countries and would like to set up similar groups around the world.

That's when I started working with a colleague based in the UK. Together, we are taking the best of the programs our two countries have in place and putting together a toolkit so that other teams can establish their own ally or ambassador teams.

Working with her has been a great experience. We are both learning from each other and fine-tuning the US and UK programs in the process. She is a great collaborator, and we have a good system of taking turns working on the materials and meeting periodically to work in tandem.

It's great to have a new partner to work with and learn from!
