2020: Note 34 - A Friend for Life

This thank you goes to a friend I met a while back when we worked at the same company. We quickly became close, and our friendship continued even after we moved onto new jobs.

We've known each other for a number of years, but there are many milestones in our lives that happened before we met...and I can't get my head around it. Wasn't she at my wedding? Didn't we know each other when I lived in Chicago? What did she say when I called her to say my daughter was born?

The answers are: No, No, and Nothing, because we didn't know each other yet.

It's funny, we're so close it feels like she has been in my life forever. How lucky is that - to make a friend in middle age and have the friendship blossom into something so strong it has that sense of history and permanence that I typically feel with childhood friends.

Technically, we may not be friends for life...but we are absolutely friends for the rest of our lives!
