2020: Note 33 - My Fellow "Fighter"

I'm not a violent person, although I did play women's rugby in college, so I'm not afraid of a little contact. So, when it comes to work, I don't typically think of things in terms of fighting. But this year, there have been a couple of challenging situations where it felt like some of us were in the business version of a foxhole together.

Lucky me, I am in the foxhole with someone who knows his stuff. He is smart and thorough and he works his tail off. Together -- with many others as well -- we have been working through various challenges and making things better.

One of the best things he brings to the table is calmness. It's very easy for people to get upset or lose perspective when faced with a surprise or a problem at work. But perspective is exactly what's needed in these situations, and he has it.

Business is never problem-free. It's all about how you handle it...and who you have on your side. Thankfully, I've got him.
