One area I've found is often omitted from discussions about diversity and inclusion is abilities. To bring this more to the forefront, one of my colleagues suggested we have a leader in inclusive design join one of our weekly Safe Space Sharing Sessions.
That's when I learned about a remarkable woman who has put inclusive design at the core of her work with brands. She pushes brands to change their perspective and reconsider their approach to product design, to make products accessible from the outset. She is a charismatic and compelling speaker, knowledgeable about her field. She is also extremely persuasive as she uses her personal experience to help convey her message. One group she works with is Open Style Lab (see picture).
I am so grateful that my colleague is an world-class networker who made the connection and invited this expert to join our Safe Space Sharing Session, which we tied to National Disability Employment Awareness Month. And to our wonderful guest, thank you for sharing your time and your perspective, as well as your support of those on the safe space who wanted to be heard and wanted to hear from you. Thank you both!
