Week 11: The Local Business

My daughter and I had a great experience at a local business this weekend. She needed a dress for a college music recital, and we decided to try a small boutique in our area. The store is known for designer clothing, and I had a feeling it would be way out of our price range. But hey, it was worth a look.

The woman working there was very helpful. She showed us a couple of dresses that were beautiful but way out of our league. She suggested my daughter try them on to see how they looked. Usually when someone says this, they're trying to sell you. But that's not what happened. She wanted to see how the dresses fit my daughter, so that she could look through their clearance room for us.

A few minutes later, she brought us a dress that is absolutely gorgeous, looks great and is within our budget. The dress has a bit of a Grecian style to it, and one of the pieces my daughter composed for her recital is based on Greek mythology, so the dress is perfect.

I'm so glad we went there first; it spared us a weekend of going to every department store, chain store and outlet store within thirty miles on a quest for a dress...and left us plenty of time to look for shoes!
